My name is Yukio and I’m a video-editor and motion graphic designer. I have more than 10 years experience and was fortunate enough to work with a wide range of clients, brands and companies. Producing a lot of video content (promotional, events, testimonials, showreels, interviews) and being involved in the whole process from concept, script and filming to the actual edit of the video. Using motion graphics for the final touch and bringing it to life. I initially started doing a lot of graphic and web design but always loved making video’s ever since I got my first digital camera as a kid. Always looking for the next challenge to further develop myself and share my skills with others. Or feel free to just bounce around some ideas!
For the last four years I was part of the Student Hotel's in-house Brand & Innovation design team. As the video-editor I was responsible for (creating) all video content throughout all locations, making sure everything was on brand. And would sometimes support the graphic designers and/or web developers whenever needed.
I started off doing freelance work for MAKE Amsterdam but eventually became a full-fledged part of the team. They gave me the opportunity to work with some great brands (Under Armour, Heineken, Philips, K-Swiss) and also help out new start-ups (NewTechKids, Movement On The Ground) by creating all sorts of content (video, websites, print, etc.).
After I graduated I started working freelance, taking on design jobs whether it was making motion graphics, editing promo-video's and showcases, creating print material (posters, flyers, brochures, etc.) or designing and building (Wordpress) websites.
My last internship right before graduating at the HvA. Here is where I first started doing mainly motion graphics. Creating short animations for various TV channels (National Geographic Channel, FOX Benelux, 24Kitchen, etc.)
My first internship one year after I started my studies at the HvA. At Performer Magazine I edited several video's they would then use in their online magazine. I would also create a mock-up for their new website and film behind-the-scenes footage at a live broadcast of the Musical Awards.
I studied Communication & Multimedia Design (Interactive Media) at the University of Amsterdam (HvA). Although I'd been doing several graphic jobs way before and was already very familiar with most of the Adobe tools, this gave me the much needed basics on how to work on a project base and work together as a team.
